The configuration setup script does not properly sanitize its output file, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a crafted POST request. In Debian, the setup tool is protected through Apache HTTP basic authentication by default. Various cross site scripting issues have been discovered that allow a remote attacker to inject arbitrary web script or HTML.

Combined with the ability to save files on the server, this can allow unauthenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code. It was possible to conduct a XSS attack using crafted URLs or POST parameters on several pages. This upgrade provides phpmyadmin 2.11.10.1 which is not vulnerable for these security issues.
