DESCRIPTION:
Ubuntu has issued an update for update-manager. This fixes a security
issue and a vulnerability, which can be exploited by malicious, local
users to disclose sensitive information and by malicious people to
conduct spoofing attacks.

1) An error due to the application creating a temporary file in an
insecure manner can be exploited to disclose the content of the
.XAUTHORITY file.

2) An error due to the application not verifying downloaded tar files
before extracting them can be exploited to e.g. overwrite arbitrary
files via Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks.

SOLUTION:
Apply updated packages.
